1. The service
Family Hero Books turns family stories into illustrated picture books. You provide stories, photos, and details; we use those materials together with AI generation tools to produce a personalized book that you can preview digitally and order in print.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
3. Photos and personal information about third parties
This section is important. Our books are typically about other people — family members, friends, deceased relatives. By uploading photographs and providing personal information about a third party (including but not limited to family members, friends, or deceased individuals), you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use these materials and to share them with Family Hero Books for the purpose of producing a personalized book.
You agree to indemnify Family Hero Books against any third-party claims arising from your submission of these materials. If a dispute arises about your rights to a photo or story, the responsibility lies with you, not us.
4. AI-generated content
We use AI tools to generate illustrations and assist with story writing. AI output can contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and approving the content of your book before placing a print order. Once a book is sent to printer, our refund policy (see Refund & Shipping) applies.
5. Your content, our license
You retain ownership of the stories, photos, and details you provide. You grant us a limited license to use that content solely to produce your book, deliver the service, and store it in your account for re-orders. We do not use your content to train AI models for general use, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you don't have the right to use.
- Submit content that depicts or describes minors in unlawful or harmful ways.
- Use the service to harass, defame, or harm any person.
- Attempt to circumvent our security or rate limits.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.
7. Pricing and payment
Prices for books and shipping are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. By placing an order you authorize the charge.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Family Hero Books disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
